Here is my experience from Monday at MD Anderson. Yes, I semi-live tweeted my needle biopsy. Hopefully it helps someone. Questions, email info@cancercardxchange.org.
The biopsy took maybe 5-10 minutes. The numbing shot hurt more than a bee sting. As the sample was taken, it felt like pressure in my neck. I compare it to an epidural. A surreal feeling knowing a needle is being stuck in your neck.
The longest 20-30 minutes of my life. I don't think I took a breath. Thinking about what was hanging in the balance for what seemed like eternity.
Fast, accurate results for tests should be the standard
of care in all medical facilities.
Preliminary and final pathology reports showed no sign of cancer in the lymph node sample. My doctors and I will continue to keep a close eye on any changes.
Overwhelmed with gratitude.
