With Liane's permission, I am sharing her words of gratitude for donations to The Cancer Card Xchange. Her email took me by surprise on this normal, run-of-the-mill Wednesday. A reminder that CCX recipients are in great need - physical, emotional and others, like Liane, financial.
CCX gifts do not meet these needs completely, but they do provide a bright spot for those facing cancer. Sometimes on a normal, run-of-the-mill Wednesday.
Overwhelmed with gratitude.
Dear Emily,
I am writing to thank you for your kindness, generosity and assistance. I contacted the Minnie Pearl Cancer Foundation, via a recommendation from Gilda's Club, in Nashville, for financial assistance.
I was diagnosed in June 2012 with terminal, inoperable, Stage IV Colon Cancer with Liver Metastasis and have been given two (2) years life expectancy. I have no health insurance, and am on Indigent Care at Nashville General Hospital, where I am receiving chemotherapy. That said, I never thought I would find myself in this situation, both financially and health wise, and it has been difficult. However, to receive such a gift of kindness was such a blessing and came at a very needed time.
Again, I just wanted to let you know how appreciated your gift was and how truly grateful I am to have received the gift cards from The Cancer Card Xchange.
Kind regards,
Liane Proctor
